Pets Allowed Hotels

How to choose the pets allowed hotels that suit you, your dog and your budget.

As you make your travel plans this summer, let us help you do the impossible: take your pets with you hassle-free!

It is possible. Most people are simply unaware of how uncomplicated and easy it can really be to take your pets along with you on your adventures. Once you settle on where you want to go and how to get there, take some time to pick the perfect accommodations. “Pets allowed” hotels are more varied and common than you might think!

As pet advocates continue to educate the world about animals and their needs, the world becomes more accommodating to pets and pet parents. Since travel is another aspect of modern life that becomes more and more important – think back to how many times you’ve had to go away on business, for holidays, weddings, etc.  just this year – the service industry becomes more hospitable to people traveling with their animal companions.

At Pets Hotels of America, you can easily find pets-allowed hotels just about anywhere in the U.S.

No matter where you go in the United States, there are pets-allowed hotels. However, not all are created the same. Some chains will simply tolerate or allow animals to be in the hotel. Others actually welcome and accommodate them, with everything from grooming services, pet bed, treats, and other amenities. How do you know which one is right for you?

First, your options may be limited by the size of your animal. Some pets allowed hotels have breed or weight restrictions. While they will usually still allow you to check in with a pet, they may require larger animals to spend the night in a different part of the hotel, in their kennels. Depending on your dog and it’s needs, this may or may not be a big deal. If you would prefer to have your dog stay in your hotel room, search for larger hotel chains: they are more likely to allow it.

Smaller dogs and cats should be allowed in your room without any issues. However, you should be aware that it’s inadvisable to leave your pet unattended, even in a kennel. Most pets allowed hotels will require the owner to be present when the room is being cleaned, in the event of an animal guest.

When booking pets allowed hotels, do a little research on the surrounding area. Is there a local park where you can walk your dog? How about a veterinary clinic, or doggie daycare facility? These are important to have close by: if your animal starts to act strange, you will want to know that help is easily accessible. Also, if some of your day or evening plans necessitate you being away from your animal, you will likely need to make arrangements for a few hours of dog sitting.

Just these few steps will make it much easier to find the right pets allowed hotel on your next trip. Remember to bring up to date paperwork of your animal’s vaccinations, and call the hotel to confirm prior to leaving.
