| Once a year San Diego pets and owners are invited to dress up in their favorite costumes for a special promenade throughout the Gaslamp Quarter to celebrate the holiday season. You can only imagine the fun and excitement as downtown became filled with costumed pets & their handlers all vying for prizes and bragging rights including Best Costumed Duo, Cutest Critter, Best Pet Costume & Best of Show! The Parade originates and concludes at the Hilton Park adjacent to the Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quarter at 4th Avenue and K Street. The Parade steps-off promptly at 3pm. Enjoy our Pet Expo in Hilton Park throughout the afternoon! | |

| Bring towels and your hound for FREE dog cruises for the one-of-its-kind in California Pet Day on the Bay! Hop on the Adventure Hornblower and enjoy a one-hour narrated cruise with your pet. Learn about 50+ San Diego landmarks. Get close ups of military ships and the San Diego skyline with a chance to see marine animals and seabirds. This blanket drive and fundraiser is sure to be great fun. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Helen Woodward Animal Center. Boarding and photo taking begins 1/2 hour prior to cruise times. | Doggie Street Festival is dedicated to increasing dog adoption through its yearly Festival. The event is designed to be an informative experience that promotes public awareness and education on issues of responsible dog adoption and on decreasing overpopulation and random breeding through spay/neuter and conscientious pet guardianship. DSF provides a diverse range of information on topics concerning pet care, health, training and well-being. DSF celebrates our pet companions and urges the public to act, advocate and work together to effect positive change and help end the tragedy that is pet homelessness. DSF is committed to decreasing pet overpopulation and continues to devote its efforts to providing free of charge, an extensively publicized platform for rescue groups and shelters to distribute literature, advocate and encourage responsible dog adoption and attract new foster parents, volunteers and supporters. DSF also provides a range of pet professionals, health practitioners and veterinarians who offer practical advice, helpful information and valuable knowledge, at no cost to the public, on Festival day at our “Ask A Pet Professional Booth.” DSF educates kids and youth; the next generations, to the importance of choosing pet adoption through pet-related art and literary projects and other engaging activities at its Kids Art Area. DSF celebrates our pet companions by organizing this high-visibility educational and informative Festival experience in an effort to increase awareness about responsible pet adoption, health, training, and well being and to encourage our community to get involved and become heroes to our furry best friends. | |

Walk for Animals Highlights Join us for a tail-waggin' good time as we celebrate our love of animals and raise funds to ensure that pets throughout San Diego receive the care they so deserve. Festivities will include a beautiful quarter-mile walk with your canine friend, great vendors, tasty food, and much more! It's quick and easy to sign up as an individual walker or to put together a team with family, friends or colleagues. After you register, we will provide you with tools to help you fundraise, including sample email letters that you can send out and your own fundraising web page that you can personalize. Walk Benefits Animals in Community By participating in the Walk, you will dramatically impact the lives of thousands of animals in our community, helping us feed and care for animals in need of loving homes, provide medical services to sick and injured animals, rescue animals in emergency situations, and provide humane education to enrich the lives of individuals and animals alike. Pet Day is a towel & blanket drive and fundraiser, which takes place aboard the Adventure Hornblower. A portion of proceeds benefit the homeless animals of Helen Woodward Animal Center. The event sponsors include Petco and Port of San Diego. Take at look at some of our pictures on facebook from past Pet Day on the Bay. In today’s dog-eat-dog world, the outing is a welcome treat for pups and people alike. Four-legged guests nibble on treats compliments of Petco. Pet photographers will be on hand to document the day’s revelry. Meet locally famous "Chopper the Biker Dog" the annual Pet Day on the Bay ambassa"dog".
